What RIT is really asking
Are you the kind of student who wants more work, and can you say why honestly?
The mistake most applicants make
Writing 'I am a hard worker who loves learning.' Every honors applicant says that.
Do this instead
Point to one thing you did beyond what was required, then name one honors feature at RIT you would use. Two paragraphs, one about you, one about fit.
How to spend 250 words
250 words is two or three short paragraphs: the specific moment, what it revealed or changed, and why it points to this school. Cut any sentence that could appear in another applicant's essay.
How to start
Jim starts by asking you: “What have you done for a class that the teacher never asked for?” Answer it with Jim, free →
