What University of Florida is really asking
Who shaped you, what have you done with it, and what would you do here?
The mistake most applicants make
Describing dreams with no people or experiences in them. The prompt literally lists what to include.
Do this instead
Pick two people or experiences and one resource, and tell how each changed your direction. Then the one contribution you would make in Honors that follows from that path.
How to spend 400 words
400 words leaves room for a scene and a reflection. Open inside the moment rather than before it, spend most of the words on what happened and what you noticed, and keep the "what it means" to the final third.
How to start
Jim starts by asking you: “Who is the person who changed what you thought you could do, and what did you do after?” Answer it with Jim, free →
