What UPenn is really asking
Why both international studies and business, and which global issue would you use them on?
The mistake most applicants make
A general case for globalization.
Do this instead
One global issue you have seen, ideally through family, travel, or work, and how business and international studies each help. Show you know the program's structure.
How to spend 400 words
400 words leaves room for a scene and a reflection. Open inside the moment rather than before it, spend most of the words on what happened and what you noticed, and keep the "what it means" to the final third.
How to start
