What Alabama is really asking
Did something outside your control shape your record, and should we read it in that light?
The mistake most applicants make
Either over-explaining an ordinary setback or hiding a real one out of embarrassment.
Do this instead
State the circumstance plainly, the period it affected, and what you did about it. No apology, no drama. If nothing applies, N/A is the right answer.
How to spend 150 words
150 words is one paragraph. One specific moment or detail, then what it shows about you, then the connection to this school or question. No introduction, no summary.
